Adieu, Azaleas.....Well Hello, Rose

The azalea blooms are almost gone, but I'm not sad.  The roses have begun to appear.

We have only a few roses at The Villa.  Like these...

...and these that E. planted last year at his back door.

But our walk around Golf Circle has lots of roses.  Overlooking the tennis courts at the Ansley Golf Club across the street...

...along the fence at the bend in the road...

...and a lovely surprise down a little alley.

Do you think the neighbors will mind if I borrow their hammock?

Prickly Pear

Lunch out with friends at a favorite place in nearby Midtown...

It's perfect weather for lunch al fresco at the Prickly Pear Taqueria (and Tequila Bar).

I don't have to look at the menu.  "Two Baja Fish Tacos, please."  (What can I say?  I'm a creature of habit.)

In a flash, they arrive.  They may not look like much, but they are divine -- blackened tilapia, sauteed spinach, grilled pineapple, and a mango salsa.

The "girls" and I catch up about upcoming graduations, weddings, and romantic intrigues over iced tea and water (not the famous Prickly Pear margaritas, not this time).  I'm sure the rest of the sidewalk crowd around us is doing the same...

We promise to meet again soon.  Same time, next month, at the Prickly Pear.  Want to join us?

The Villa Landscape Committee Report

The Villa Landscape Committee met recently about outdoor watering.  Georgia still has "even - odd" street address rules in effect.

The Committee reached consensus, then adjourned to inspect the grounds.

"Let's plant liriope here."

"No.  I think we should plant it over there."

Molly looks at the camera.  She is tired of all the talking.  She is ready to chase squirrels.

Blah blah blah blah.  How much more can they talk?

Molly picks up a scent.  Could it be a squirrel?

Nothing.  But Molly remains alert.

Thank you, Molly.  All of us at The Villa can rest easier, knowing that you are on guard.
